Why did Kandil choose Egypt and Turkey as destinations, and does he have family connections in Alexandria, Cairo, Giza, or Hatay that facilitated the kidnapping?
How did Kandil plan and execute the international flight with two young children without raising suspicion, and did he have assistance?
What financial records, passport usage, or communications exist that could trace Kandil's movements after arriving in Turkey or Egypt?
Ahmed Abdallah Taha Kandil took his two children, Amina and Belel, from their mother's home in Virginia on August 29, 2014, claiming a brief visit but instead fled internationally to Ukraine, Turkey, and likely Egypt. A U.S. court granted the children's mother sole custody on September 5, 2014, but Kandil and the children have not been located. The case remains active as an international parental kidnapping, with Kandil believed to be in Egypt or Turkey using his dual U.S.-Egyptian citizenship.
