Carnell Sledge

On June 4, 2019, Carnell 'Nell' Sledge and Kate Brown, close friends for ten years, were shot and killed on a park bench at Rocky River Reservation near Cleveland in broad daylight while surrounded by joggers and dog walkers. The killer remains unknown—no robbery occurred, belongings were untouched, and despite theories ranging from hate crime to gang initiation to a jealous ex-lover, investigators have made little public progress in five years. The case desperately needs a witness to come forward or new evidence to break what appears to be a carefully planned murder by someone familiar with the park.
