On June 8, 2025, as California Highway Patrol Officers remained on the freeway, a group of violent protestors threw rocks, pieces of concrete, electric scooters, and fireworks at officers and patrol cars from the overpass located near Los Angeles Street in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
