Several of his personal belongings, including his checkbook, were left behind in the motel. Whaley's vehicle was found abandoned on November 19, 2007, in the Miramiguoa Village - Meramec State Park, in Franklin County, Missouri.

Several of his belongings, including his wallet and personal identification, were found in the vehicle. Anyone with information regarding Whaley’s disappearance is asked to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
