Goudreau, a former member of the US Special Forces, was charged in July of 2024 in a 14-count indictment for charges related to export control violations involving firearms. The indictment alleges Goudreau exported firearms, night vision devices, laser sights, and other equipment from the United States to Colombia to carry out an armed incursion into Venezuela to remove leaders from power. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Goudreau on October 31, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa, Florida, after he was charged with Failure to Appear.
