Massac County, Illinois March 30, 1984 On March 30, 1984, the body of Lisa Ann Carnes was discovered in a field south of County Road 1150 N and east of US 45 in rural Massac County, Illinois. On March 31, 1984, an autopsy was conducted on Carnes.
Carnes’ cause of death was attributed to exsanguination resulting from a gunshot wound to the chest. Signs of blunt force trauma to her head were also observed.
Several items of clothing were located near the scene where the body was discovered. Investigators are attempting to identify anyone who has information on the homicide or events surrounding the homicide.
