Was Blace recovered from the crash wreckage, or did he survive and potentially leave the crash site?
The remote ravine terrain and wilderness conditions may have prevented initial discovery of the victim.
Co-passenger Jason Tucker (MP #107643) was also missing from this aircraft—what is the status of both individuals?
Nicolas Robert Blace, a 44-year-old male, disappeared on August 9, 2023, when a Piper PA-18-150 aircraft (N4481Z) he was piloting crashed approximately 60 miles northwest of Skwentna in Denali National Park. The wreckage was discovered at the bottom of a 500-600 foot ravine in the West Fork of the Yentna River (Shellabarger Pass), but Blace's remains have not been located. The National Park Service continues investigating whether Blace survived the crash or may be in the remote wilderness area.
