On 09/16/2025, the US Forest Service was notified by Yancey County Sheriff officials of items to include prosthetic legs and a wallet with a driver's license for Paul Loflin located near Mt. Mitchell State Park.
After various search parties were conducted on different dates, no human remains were found. Demographics: 68 years, Male, White / Caucasian.
